WASC has received communication from Sportwest regarding the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund. As an affiliate of the WA Speedway Commission, your club may be eligible for some relief if affected by recent impacts of COVID-19 and bushfires.

We’re all aware of the challenges confronting WA communities this week.  Aside from the recent impacts related to COVID-19, the devastating fires across the outskirts of metropolitan Perth are causing ongoing concern.

Immediate relief efforts such as the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund<https://www.perth.wa.gov.au/LMDRF> are under way, and if SportWest Members have had contact from your member clubs about impacts on their organisations, their members and activities please let us know.  This might include fire damage to facilities, loss of equipment or other disruptions.

Should we become aware of further avenues of assistance available, it will be helpful to have consolidated information at hand to guide the relief and assistance to see community sport re-established in these areas when people are ready to return.
